The SHISHIKSHA (Bench to Bedside) Internship Orientation Programme was conducted from 23rd to 29th October 2025 as per NCISM guidelines to prepare interns for clinical responsibilities. The programme commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony followed by an inaugural address and pre-test.
Throughout the six-day schedule, interns were oriented to hospital protocols, NABH standards, biomedical waste management, documentation procedures, and medico-legal aspects. Academic sessions covered Kayachikitsa, Panchakarma, Shalya Tantra, Shalakya Tantra, Kaumarbhritya, Swasthavrutta & Yoga, and emergency management. Special emphasis was given to communication skills, leadership, counselling, personality development, and team-building activities.
Hands-on guidance regarding OPD/IPD documentation, HIMS, e-logbook maintenance, pharmaco-vigilance, and national health programmes enhanced practical understanding. Sessions on AYUSH regulatory bodies, ABDM, medical value travel, and entrepreneurial opportunities broadened professional perspectives.
The programme concluded with a post-test and valedictory function. Overall, the orientation successfully strengthened interns’ clinical competence, ethical awareness, and confidence in delivering quality Ayurvedic healthcare services.
